With her emotions grounded and her sight looking up and far into the future, Trindade thought expansion of the program and the mark would help grow the business. It only took twelve licensees over the course of two years for Trindade to realize that licensing and franchising were not the best for new moms and trainers who wanted to start their own strolling businesses. New moms need the freedom to run their businesses on their schedule and time and money may not be on their side. Trindade decided to just traing instructors to do their own thing. Her company would help, support and refer moms.n are healthy and are loved by "both" their parents with all of their hearts . So, she set her sights on licensing the program and training instructors in the system of Strollercize. There were other "copycat" strolling companies springing up in other parts of the country so it seemed like the natural move toward expansion.

It was this year that Ms. Trindade, after 9/11 and the New York City blackout went through a terrible custody battle. She decided to look at life in a different way. She loved her moms, she loved teaching her classes, she loved her children., but she was not happy. But she stayed fit as she tried to figure out how to be a single mom with three chilren in New York City. She kept Strollercize growing in New York City and started a certification program and workshops. Other stroller fitness company's became franchises. Each bought her book and DVD and went off and roll with her concept. First it was Stroller Fit in 1997, Stoller Strides became a business shortly after and soon to follow Baby Boot Camp. Now there are countless copy cats. When she started this business she was told is was dumb idea. Good luck to all ofthose that took up a "dumb" idea.

The effects of September 11th began to show, as tit did in all businesses in
New York , and we were held in a temporary time capsule while the city regrouped. During this time, the company really was unable to expand in the way which we had previously foreseen. However, our dedicated brigade of moms continued to stroll around Manhatten and slowly but surely we all came out of the dark with a new determination.

With the start of the new year Strollercize® prepared for its first book, Strollercize, The New Mother's Workout. Strollercize® also started a prenatal program called Preparing To Push®.
Elizabeth designed a "babyweight" to be used in the class so moms could tone and practice daily moves with a baby that they soon would be truly lifting, carrying and of course Strollercizing. She also developed a pelvic floor exercise routine using her face muscles to simulate the pelvic floor muscles. Now the "Queen of Incontinence" truly reigned as a certified prenatal instructor with a twist!

In mid 1999, Strollercize® and it's owner, hit a personal "Scene of a Struggle" Elizabeth and husband ended their thirteen year marriage. I was now faced to run the company and be a single mom in the Big Apple. It was the saddest and toughest time in my life. as I loved our life but our businesses, three children and the stress of our lives created our marriage to fall. I set out to conquer new terrain and a new life but it was not easy as a single mom in the Big Apple. At the time I wanted to expand my business outside of New York, but with the divorce, I let other similar companies take the lead. I tried to find ground with my family and keep my existing business, Strollercize in financial tack. I ended up losing Aline Fitness to my ex and he gave me Strollercize in the divorce. He just didn't believe it was worth anything! But he was wrong. During the sad time I put my energy into writing my first book, Strollercize, The New Mother's Workout. By the grace of God, I got a book deal with Random House in March 2001. This deal helped Strollercize stay alive and of course followed my mom's advice which came from the movie Field of Dreams. When I told her I had an idea she said "if you build it, they will come". So I kept building it in
Central Park and they came rolling in!

Strollercize® is featured on Lifetime Television's New Attitudes and the phones start ringing from Moms around the country looking for classes in their areas. The idea of going National seemed like the next forward move. Strollercize is featured on "Short Workouts" Book. Look for it on your local library.

My third child, Romeu, was born in May. Strollercize® continued to grow bigger every year and membership was so large that a second gym became necessary to accomodate all our Aline clients and Strollercize mommies. But married life took a turn...... Strollercize makes its debut on the big screen on the movie "24 Hour Woman", rent it on your local video store.

Sadly, I lost my mother, my best friend, to ovarian cancer. Now I was the top of the food chain as a mom. My husband was an orphan so we had each other. I continued to raise my "baby" corporation and incorporated in 1995 and separated it from Aline Fitness Inc. Now mom was handling two corporations, not training too much, pretty much an office mom. Strollercize® was seen on Good Morning , Dateline, CNN and numerous cable shows. National magazines such as Parents, American Baby and Fit Pregnancy feature Strollercize® in beautiful pictorials. Strollercize® joined with babyGap and the New York Road Runners Club to sponsor the Strollercize Strollerthon in
Central Park , raising money for the Starlight Foundation. There were a growing number of Strollercize® classes a week, 100 Strollercize® members, and a structured training course for Strollercize® instructors to learn the Strollercize® system.

With the help of my mother, Beverly Chaney (former manager to Brendan Fraser, Jim Caviezel and Reese Witherspoon in Seattle), I produced the first Strollercize® video. I was encouraged by my mother to follow my dream and teach women the importance of a healthy lifestyle. |

Strollercize® grew rapidly by word of mouth and from numerous press and news releases, and new moms are flocking to join this unique stroller-fitness program in New York City. All this time , the in-home personal training business grew. Strollercize expanded and we were a happy and fit family. Tatiana and Lorenzo were at my side in the office as I grew Strollercize to 28 classes a month. |
| |
| |
My second child, Lorenzo, was born in June. The Strollercize® system was up and running amazingly well, with classes daily in Central Park. At this point we had also garnered some medical attention and medical approval from numerous New York State board certified OBGYN'S and Cornell University hospital for running a safe and effective pre and post natal program . By the end of the year we were able to open our first gym Aline Fitness INC and we had two classes running as Strollercize. |

I spent time perfecting the routine and forms of exercise with groups of other struggling moms. Everyone loved how fun and easy this stroller exercise routine was, and it was also working in well with their busy lives. "Strollercize" was named and created as a way for moms to get fit with the stroller. |

In 1990 on February 11th an angel was born, Tatiana. Her dad and I were "fit to be tied" to a baby girl that would soon be the true creator of Strollercize. Before pregnancy, I was a sculpted trainer, retired long legged ballerina. Now I was a new mom with boobs like a pornstar, buns that were not steel and tears that were used as my daily facial moisturizer. I became "fitness frustrated". Just to get out of the apartment was a workout! My life was spent folding, maneuvering and lifting the stroller, no place and no time to do a real workout. Sleepless nights with the baby and dehydration from crying defined my new life, it was an emotional workout! Then I got great advice from my own mom, Beverly Chaney. She encouraged me to use this stressful time to my advantage. After a brief pause for reflection, it dawned on me that I wasn't the only mom suffering from the daily hassels of new motherhood. The germ of an idea began to sprout. Not long after this great revelation Strollercize® was born as a class under the Aline Fitness establishment. |

Our personal training buisness grew to 90 clients and we had five trainers under us. We were one of the best personal traiing companies in NYC! We had celebrity clients ranging from Henry Kissinger to Anthony Quinn. |
| |
| |
Happily married, my husband, a clone of Jean Claude Van Damn, decided to become my first personal trainer under our new company. I trained him the "Aline" style of training and he brought to the table his funny personality and his European "weight training" style. We were a dual threat in the personal training world. A husband a wife team that helped our clients Train For Life! |

After five years in New York, I was finally mentally, financially, and physically ready to settle down (get married). After I was married I decided to pursue my life long dream of opening my own personal training buisness. Lets just say you can't take the dancer out of dance but you can keep the dance with the dancer! In 1987, Aline Fitness became incorporated and I started it on a kitchen table. |

I was a ballet dancer in Seattle at Cornish Institute of Allied Arts. At 25 I moved to the big city where "real" dancers live in the balance of true performance. I moved here with $500.00 in my pocket, got a job as a waitress and left the perfect life. I moved because life...was just too predictable. So I moved to a city that was not predictable. I moved to discover how tough it is to live in New York City. I had no idea that I would build a business and to this day love everyday of rolling with it. |
